Steinman Nabs New England Winby Bill Rosenberger A small but talented field showed up at Rhode Island Billiards on Sunday, April 10 for the New England Women's 9-Ball tournament. The North Providence poolroom played host to the event that saw Morgan Steinman upset Stacey Lantz in the finals. Lantz and Steinman actually met first in the hot seat match, which was close until the end. The score was tied at two and five apiece, but two run outs by Lantz earned her the 7-5 win. In the semifinal match, Steinman faced Ayna Ryngold, with Ryngold's day ending with a 7-3 defeat. The final match was a double-elimination contest, and Steinman would have to put two sets together to capture the title. In the first set, Lantz had a chance to go for the victory, but Steinman's final run earned her the 7-5 win. In the second set, Lantz's unforced errors gave Steinman the momentum she needed to close out her comeback victory 7-3.
