Texas Showdown Won by PulfordBy Bill Rosenberger There was more than first place at stake at the Fast Eddie's 9-Ball Tour season finale. The December 5, 2004, event at Fast Eddies in Alamo City, TX, was also worth an Eclipse pool table donated by Olhausen.
Again, Amanda Lampert was the player to beat, blazing through the winners' bracket to face Heather Pulford, whose only win of the season was at the first event in Austin. Lampert, winner of four Fast Eddie tour stops, took the hot seat and waited for a winner in the finals. Pulford faced Melinda Bailey, who had been sent to the west side by Lampert, and again, she edged out another victory to get back to the finals for a rematch with Lampert. In the double-elimination finals, Lampert was clearly the favorite to win, but after her 7-2 defeat in the first set, the odds were probably split down the middle. The second set was tight, with both Lampert and Pulford trading games back and forth. But Pulford made a late run and took it all the way to bank, winning 7-5. Results: 1st Heather Pulford $550 2nd Amanda Lampert $350 3rd Melinda Bailey $220 4th Corina Campbell $50 Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news from the Fast Eddie's 9-Ball Tour.
