The Great Southern 9 Ball Tour Kicks Off at Murphy's Brass Rail by InsidePOOL Magazine
 

earl.JPGThe Great Southern 9 Ball Tour kicked off at Murphy's Brass Rail September 7th and 8th. Cannon Promotions is promoting the tour with Meucci Cues as the presenting sponsor . The inaugural event gathered 42 players from all over the Southeast region to compete for the $7,500 purse. Notables included current World Champion Earl Strickland, Johnny Archer, Shannon Daulton and Shawn Putnam. Earl Strickland is left won the winners side bracket and Archer won the losers side. Strickland won the finals defeating Archer in the first set 9-5. The tournament was a true Double Elimination format, in which Archer had to beat Earl twice to claim the title.
