Treadway & McCreesh Headline Planet Pool Tour by InsidePOOL Magazine

Treadway & McCreesh Headline Planet Pool Tour

By R.T. Mechling

The Planet Pool Tour headed to Breaktime Sports Grill & Pub in Salisbury, MD, on May 14-15, and the tournament featured another outstanding performance from some of the tour's best shooters.  Pam Treadway continued her hot streak as she claimed the women's 9-Ball title in undefeated style.  Ryan McCreesh came from the "B"-side to defeat Shaun Wilkie to claim the open division 9-Ball title.

Treadway captured her third undefeated title on the Planet Pool Tour against a field of twelve competitors in Salisbury.  Malea Haacke was bested by Treadway 7-2 in the hot seat, but Haacke rebounded on the one-loss side to oust Kathy Friend 5-1.  In the rematch final with Treadway, Haacke once again was soundly defeated 9-4 to settle for second place.  Kim Sudler's fourth-place finish was her best on the tour to date.

In the 9-Ball Open division,Jimmy Tyson scored his best finish on the tour by claiming fourth-place, but it was McCreesh and Wilkie that played their way through a field of 40 competitors en route to a hot seat meeting and a shot at the finals.  Wilkie claimed victory over McCreesh courtesy of the 9-6 win, and McCreesh's arrival on the left side put him opposite Kevin West.  The match went hill-hill but McCreesh prevailed 9-8 to put himself in position to seek revenge against Wilkie.  In the final match, Wilkie's luck came to an end as McCreesh thwarted his hopes for the title by taking the match 11-6.

In the 8-Ball open division Josh Brothers took home top honors by defeating Ed Deska 7-6.  Janet Keith claimed victory over Kathleen Lawless 5-4 in the women's 8-ball division.
