Upper Echelon for England on The Viking Cue Amateur 9-Ball Tour Kevin England was among the 44 players who came out to play in The Viking Cue Amateur 9-Ball stop, but he was the only one who came out on top. Northfield Billiards in Northfield, OH, was the second stop of the fledgling tour, which rolled in on September 4, 2004, for a one-day, $500-added event.
After defeating Marty Lawson in the match for fourth place, Fred “Scooter” Goodman met Shayne Morrow in the semifinals. Morrow arrived on the one-loss side after a 5-2 defeat by England in the hot seat match. For not showing much enthusiasm in the hot seat match, Morrow certainly came alive when a rematch was at stake. “Scooter” had the chance to get a sole point on his side of the board before Morrow shot out to take the 5-1 win.
Embroiled in the final battle, England and Morrow kept things tied up until England got into the lead with 4-3. From there, it appeared that Morrow lost his groove, and England went on to take the win undefeated with a final decision of 5-3.
