Ussery Wins First on J. Pechauer Southeast 9-Ball Tour Making his way through the regional tours in the Southeast, B. J. Ussery added a victory on the J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour to his ever-growing list. The fourteenth tour stop was held at Katie’s Cues and Sports Club in Raleigh, NC, on September 4, 2004.
Robert Ray and tournament director Tommy Kennedy faced off in the match for fourth place. Kennedy defeated Ray with a convincing 7-2 score, moving onto the semifinal match against Ussery, who was defeated by Josh Degler 7-5 in the hot seat match. Ussery took command of the match and stopped Kennedy in his tracks with a 7-5 score to set up a rematch in the finals against Degler.
In the final, nail-biting match, Ussery and Degler battled through a rematch. The score seesawed until Ussery passed by his opponent to take the win 9-7.
