Wisconsin BCA Votes to stay a BCA Organization On July 11th, all interested parties involved with the WIBCA came together for the annual WIBCA meeting. Of all the items that were covered, no debate was more spirited than that of deciding to stay aligned with the BCA Pool League System or go with a competitor.
After a lengthy discussion, a vote of attending league operators was made and the decision was overwhelmingly in favor of keeping the existing WIBCA the same. The reasons for the WIBCA to keep the existing organization were very similar to the Western BCA Pool Players Association’s reasons with a few small changes: 1) The WIBCA agreed that keeping its organization aligned with the BCA Pool Leagues for one year and revisit its affiliation at next summer’s annual meeting would be the best course of action to take. If the BCA Pool Leagues doesn’t deliver, then the WIBCA will investigate other league/organization options. 2) The WIBCA thought that if a competing league would like to come into Wisconsin, they are certainly allowed, but to do it on their own time and money, not to take over existing leagues and assets. 3) The difference of aligning with a for-profit or a non-profit organization was a non-issue. It would really come down to who ran their organization better and who had the player’s interests in mind. After the decision to stay the WIBCA was made, election of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary were made. Scott Dulian was elected WIBCA President, Dave Jacoby of Jacoby Cues was elected Vice President, Tara Rauls as Secretary and ,Tom Lubus as Treasurer. The WIBCA would like to thank its outgoing officers for their tireless work to promote the WIBCA. The state of pool in Wisconsin is better and the strength of the WIBCA organization has grown due to their efforts. A special thanks to those league operators and players who gave up their weekend to attend the annual meeting and work to make the sport of pool better.
