In addition performances at the qualifiers will form the basis of the waiting list of competitors should any of the nominated players fail scratch from the main tournament or fail to show up. Last year over 170 players from 29 countries tried their luck in the qualifiers and as well as big names like Filipinos Ramil Gallego and Rodolfo Luat winning through, total unknowns such as John Wims (Ireland) and England's Richard Jones battled their way through to centre stage. Competitors may play in one event per day, making 5 tournaments in total for an entry fee of £350 (approx $550), which includes free entry to the one Rack Shoot Out. Individual events will cost £80 (approx $125) to enter but places may be restricted in favour of players taking the five tournament option.
