World Pool Championship Date Set

WorldPoolLogo.jpgMatchroom Sport has announced that the 2005 World Pool Championships will kick off July 2 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.  The nine-day event will conclude o­n Sunday, July 10 and will include a prize fund of $350,000 (US).

The full field will include 128 players from an estimated 40 countries, all battling head-to-head for the $75,000 first-place prize.  Defending champion Alex Pagulayan will be going for two in row against the likes of Thorsten Hohmann, Earl Strickland, Efren Reyes, Mika Immonen, and two hometown favorites in Fong-Pang Chao and Ching-Shun Yang.

ESPN Star Sports will be broadcasting the entire event live all across Asia, and it will also be carried live o­n Sky Sports in the UK.  It will also be syndicated around the globe in nine 2-hour highlight programs.
