Eric Durbin is still tearing up the o­ne-loss side of the bracket with a victory over past U.S. Open champion Tommy “TK” Kennedy.  Down 9-6 and staring defeat in the face, Durbin slowly came back to win the match by the score of 10-9.

BrandonAshcraftToledo.jpgBrandon Ashcraft of Sterling Heights, MI, who took fourth place at last year’s Glass City Open, is still alive and kicking in the o­ne-loss bracket, having just eliminated Japanese player Kenichi Uchigaki 10-8 and Al Naif 10-2.  Defending champion Nick Varner won his match against Tony Lane in a 10-9 squeaker and then defeated John Schmidt 10-7.  Earl Strickland defeated Larry Wiggins 10-5.  Canadian player Jon Jorgensen eliminated Buddy “The Rifleman” Hall 10-6.  Danny “The Springfield Flash” Harriman sent Mike Davis home via a hill-hill match.

In the winners’ side, Gabe Owen won his match against John Binion 10-3.  Jeremy Seaman defeated veteran Allen Hopkins in a tough hill-hill match, and then Hopkins eliminated Dee Adkins 10-5.  New Jersey young gun Danny “Kid Delicious” Basavich won his match against Adam Smith 10-6.  Lone Filipino player at this event, Santos Sambajon, defeated room owner Jimmy Wetch 10-2.
