Youth Dominates 10K Tour AgainBy Bill Rosenberger For the second stop in a row, the young John Morra took the 10K Tour by storm and won his third event of the year, this time at Bobby D's in Burlington, ontario. The December 4-5 stop was the fifth of the season and drew a phenomenal field of 77 players. Sunday's action brought back the top 12, including Morra, D.J. McInley, and Penny Devos. The day started with McInley falling to Devos 4-3, while Morra bested newcomer Greg McPhail 8-5. Morra and Devos then played for the hot seat, with Morra simply outplaying his opponent to win 8-2. In the left bracket, Steve Murray and Derek Baker played a tight match, with Murray edging out the victory 7-5. Also in the one-loss side, Mike Roberts ousted Glen Seesemann, Jim Holland knocked out Jason Klatt, and Sam Siolas eliminated Dave Parker 8-6. Eventually, Roberts faced McInley and hammered out a tough 7-6 win, earning a semifinals match up against Devos. In another close battle, Roberts surfaced with a 7-5 win, completing his west side comeback to earn a spot in the finals against Morra. Morra opened the final match with a quick two-game lead, but Roberts battled back until the match went hill-hill. With four balls remaining on the table, Roberts attempted a safety but left Morra with a shot, allowing him to run out the match for the victory.
