Hi I am have troble when i enter the program. First it says program did not shutdown properly please run database maintenance utilty. Then a box pops up that reads run-time error'91' object variable or with block not set. Then once again another box says 91 object variable or with block variable not set please call tech support 734-543-3700ext231.
I ran the database repair utility but it says that some files would not be updated as they are in use by (sales tracker?).
Everything had been closed down, computer restarted etc and nothing else is registered on Task Manager.

You did the right thing. Use the key combination <Ctl - ALT - DEL> to bring up the Task Manager in in Windows. If you see Sales Tracker or Billiard Business listed as a running task, choose "End Task."
Sometimes, you cannnot see a program on your screen, but it's still running in the background. If that doesn't work, restart the computer. That will force the operating system to shut down all running programs. The database maintenance tool will not repair the database if it's in use by Sales Tracker or Billiard Business Solutions.

I have managed to get to a stage where I can turn on all our table lights, but cannot manage tables individually.
It is Saturday here (our busiest day) so a prompt answer would be fantastic. Or you can give me a call as I have emailed Henry.
Cheers

Quote from Steve Holman: I fixed the problem by restoring the computer to an earlier date and then running the database repair on the files. This fixed the problem, but I lost a couple of days of stats/work etc. I then fixed that by reinstalling my latest backup. All good. |
Sometimes problems are very difficult to trace. But if a customer can send a compressed copy of their database files to defsyn@gmail.com, we can step through the code using your database files to reproduce the problem and see the exact section in the program which is producing the error. Usually, we can come up with a solution and have it repaired within an hour.
Glad to hear you're up and running. If you ever come up on a problem like that again, you can use Windows Explorer to send the database folder to a zipped file. The database folder's default location is 'C:\Program Files\Billiard Business Solutions\db.' Just right click on the db folder and send it to a compressed file. Attach the db.zip file to an email and send it to me at defsyn@gmail.com

Henry Garcia
