I am currently in the process of testing out your program for use in my billiard. Currently I am having issues regarding compatibility with my cash register. With my previous POS program, my cash register opened on command flawlessly. However, with the Billiard Business Solutions program, I am unable to successfully open my register via the program. Any help would be appreciated.

The usual problem is that the Windows Print Driver for that particular printer has not been installed. The two programs support Epson or Star compatible receipt printers.

If you're using a Star Printer SP212 printer, use the LineMode driver found on their website for your printer. After verifying that the printer works by printing a test page, please setup the printer in our software from our Manager's Menu in the Printer and Cash Drawer Setup. Make sure the Star Option Button is selected for the Receipt Printer after selecting the Star Printer as your receipt printer: the drop down list box should show all installed printers on your system. The old generic text printer driver supplied with Windows does not work with the cash drawer anymore.

The newer USB Star Printers come with their own Windows Drivers. Install that driver and you'll have to check the properties in the Printers Section of Windows to verify that the printer is set to open the Cash Drawer. You should be able to choose to open the door before the receipt is printed, after the receipt is printed, or to not open. Not opening is the default. This is part of the Star Printer Driver Software and must be setup from their Properties section found in the Printers Section of your Windows Operating System.

Epson Compatible Printers also require a printer driver. You should not use the OPS drivers.

With both types of printers you should choose the option stating that you have a cash drawer in the Printer and Cash Drawer Setup screen.
