The $7,000-added tournament was hosted by Diamond Billiards in Cape Coral, FL, and featured a full field of 64 of the region’s top shooters. In the final eight on the winners’ side, Deuel matched up with former Player of the Year Shane Van Boening. The two players fought to double-hill before Deuel was sent west 8-7. Van Boening went on to face off against “Iron Mike” Davis, who had just delivered Mike Dechaine to the one-loss side after their hill-hill match.
